Our policy
We believe it is important to offer children and staff a safe, healthy and clean environment. It should be a pleasant place in every aspect. That’s why we work with an extensive policy framework (including a risk assessment). This covers practical matters such as cleaning, but also your child’s wellbeing. Below you can read more about it.
Educational policy plan
To make sure your child is safe and happy in our group, we work with an educational policy plan. This internal document (available in the Bitcare app) serves as our guideline and is continually updated and improved based on new experiences, regulations and insights. After all, there is nothing more valuable than children being approached in a positive and loving way, being encouraged to develop themselves, and above all arriving happily and going home that way too. A safe, healthy and clean childcare environment
Safety
For everything related to safety, we work closely with the municipality, the GGD (Public Health Service) and the Fire departement. They visit us regularly to advise and inspect. In addition, we have strict protocols and rules to safeguard your child’s safety. For example, children are always supervised by multiple qualified professionals, with staffing levels tailored to the size of the group.
Health
As you may have read on the page about food and care, we place great value on giving children a healthy start in life. Together with you, we like to set the right example, so a strong foundation is laid for the rest of their lives. In addition to healthy meals, we follow a sickness policy. This protects the health of the ill child and helps prevent further infections. If your child isn’t feeling well, we will contact you to discuss together what to do. Sometimes recovering at home is the very best place to be.
Hygiene and cleaning
We clean our rooms and materials according to fixed guidelines. Our housekeeping team cleans every day, with toilets cleaned several times a day and changing tables disinfected after each diaper change. Group rooms and sleeping areas are well ventilated and children always sleep in a fresh bed. Toys are cleaned weekly, and more often if needed. Pacifiers are sterilised after every use, are not shared with other children, and are always rinsed if they fall on the floor. It goes without saying that no one smokes at our childcare locations.
Personal care of your child
You bring your child to us in the morning clean and brushed, and that’s how you are greeted at pick-up too: your child has a clean diaper, fresh hair and, if needed, clean clothes. Whatever happens during the day, children should feel clean and comfortable. That’s why we always ask you to bring a spare set of clothes. Our childcare professionals also set a good example by washing hands together with the children before eating and after using the toilet.
Parent committee
The best experiences are those of parents. That’s why each location has an active parent committee. They think along and talk with us about Paddington’s policy. And not only that: they also represent the other parents and contribute ideas about topics such as food, safety and activities. Parents can also meet each other, for example during annual events like our Easter morning.
Complaints policy
We do everything we can to provide your child with the best possible childcare. Still, you may sometimes have a question or a complaint. We prefer you to contact us directly, so we can work towards a solution together. If we cannot resolve it together, there is a formal complaints policy. Parents can find this in the Bitcare app.
